St. Mary's Hospital, Podanur, Coimbatore, was founded in 1943. This hospital has been serving the community for decades. Later, the St. Mary’s School of Nursing was established in 2007. It is a cherished institution rooted in the legacy of compassion, service, and excellence in nursing education. It was founded and is administered by the Presentation Sisters, belonging to the globally recognized Society of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose mission is to uplift the marginalized through education, healthcare, and social service.

Guided by the spirit and vision of Servant of God Joseph Louis Ravel, the founder of the Presentation Congregation, the sisters ventured into nursing education with a strong commitment to form competent, compassionate, and ethical healthcare professionals. The school was established with the vision of empowering young women—especially from rural and disadvantaged backgrounds—by equipping them with professional nursing skills and Christian values.

Over the years, St. Mary’s School of Nursing has earned a reputation for academic excellence, disciplined training, and dedicated service. Its graduates have served across India and abroad, making a difference in the lives of the sick and suffering.

Building on this strong foundation, and responding to the growing demand for advanced nursing education, we are now proud to begin St. Mary’s College of Nursing, Podanur, with upgraded infrastructure, experienced faculty, and an expanded curriculum. This milestone marks a new chapter in our journey toward shaping future nurse leaders who will serve with competence, compassion, and commitment.

Affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council and recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, our college continues the Presentation tradition of holistic education, spiritual formation, and dedicated service in healthcare.
